Stair ropes make perfect handrails and banisters for your staircase and hall, they add interest and safety and provide an attractive feature as well as a practical handrail for the elderly and very young.

Our stair ropes are traditionally handmade using only the finest Natural or Syntheric Jute or Wool in a wide selection of colours and finishes to suit any home. Stairropes Direct provide a friendly, personal service and custom make every stair rope banister to add the finishing touch to your staircase.

They are hand made in our factory using the same traditional methods that we've always used and result in a rope banister that is both graceful and very strong.

Our ropes are available with two diameters of 24mm and 30mm to choose from. All of our 'Direct' range have a hand crafted knot at both ends or contact us for special orders knot, tassel or coiled end variants.

Our Bannister/Stair Ropes are a helpful extra hand rail for the wall side of your stairs but should not be used as the main support, more as an attractive decorative feature.
